Avalon Irish Terriers

Avalon is a legendary island surrounded by marshlands featured in the Arthurian legend. In Welsh it is called "Ynys Afallach", which means the Island of Apples. Avalon first appears in Geoffrey of Monmouth's 1136 pseudo-historical account Historians Regum Britanniae ("The History of the Kings of Britain"). It is the place where King Arthur's sword Excalibur was forged and after the Battle of Camlann, King Arthur was taken to the island to recover from his wounds.

Irish Terriers, like King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, have magnificent courage, heart, intelligence, faithfulness and loyalty. They are also high spirited, funny and playful, and make wonderful family companions.
